Checking on bearings
March 1st 2011 Korsnäs, one of Sweden's leading
producers of consumer packaging,
has invested in an Intellinova online
system with SPM HD for condition
monitoring on the fiber line of its
production facility in Gävle.
Production, with integrated pulp
manufacturing, takes place at the
company's facilities in Gävle, Frövi
and Rockhammar. The facility in
Gävle has a production capacity of
700,000t of paper and paper board
annually on three paper machines.
SPM was contracted to measure
bearing condition on the preimpregnation
vessel using portable
measuring equipment. It was feared
there was bearing damage in the
vessel. However, measurements
showed there was no damage on the
vessel's bottom bearing and, during a
maintenance stop afterwards, it was
confirmed that disturbances came
