As more building operators opt for refurbishment rather than replacement, Envirotec has reported an increase in demand for its refurbishment service for air handling units (AHUs).

"Even 20-30 year old AHUs can be successfully refurbished with a major improvement in performance – and the financial and environmental savings are very significant," says Envirotec's Ron Flewett. "Our experience over many years of refurbishing AHUs is that savings, compared to buying new units, typically range from 20% to 50%.

Furthermore, the end user will benefit from additional life cycle cost savings through reduced maintenance costs and improved energy efficiency."
