The Energy Show, now established as the national showcase for the Irish energy sector, is this year themed "Open up to Smart Energy Solutions". The Show will take the form of a two day exhibition highlighting the latest sustainable energy solutions available in Ireland, while also featuring a series of seminars covering the most current and topical developments facing the sector both nationally and internationally.

The range of seminars across the two days will hold an appeal for all those working in the industrial sector. Business owners and employees alike are sure to find the latest in sustainable energy equipment advances on display at the various exhibitions throughout the arena.

On the opening day of Energy Show 2011 attendees can take in seminars covering a vast range of issues currently affecting the energy sector. Stuart Morrow from South West College will discuss the practicalities of installing a Small Scale Wind Turbine in a seminar entitled Wind Energy – Opportunities for Irish Businesses. Later that morning the seminar Onsite Energy – Solutions for Non-Residential Projects will focus on zero-carbon energy options for those involved in designing, operating and maintaining low-energy buildings.

Day two of Energy Show 2011 carries on with the theme of smart energy solutions and looks at the latest developments in energy efficiency and features many best practice case studies. Of particular appeal to those in the industrial sector will be Energy Efficient Design – A Focus on Modern Capital Projects where Michael O'Donnell of Pfizer Biotechnology Ireland will discuss the world class design of the industrial facility at Shanbally Plant. Attendees will also hear how to design and deliver an A-rated commercial building with John Burgess of ARUP. Other seminars will focus on financing and procurement solutions for energy efficiency retrofits, as well as innovative commercial lighting solutions and advising SMEs on how to save energy and money the easy way.

Across the wide range of seminars, with nine taking place over the two days of the Energy Show, there will be a host of opportunities for businessmen and women to gain substantial knowledge concerning the latest sustainable energy technologies and practices. The seminars will act as an ideal venue for those attending the Show to share experiences, particularly with regard to making energy efficiency savings, and share ideas on how to contribute towards making Ireland a pioneer in the area of sustainable energy. For anyone keen on maximising the potential of their business, the Energy Show seminars are recommended.

New to the Energy Show this year is the Sustainable Energy Innovation Award, which showcases innovative developments taking place in the sustainable energy sector, and profiles the organisations behind these developments. The introduction of this award, which will be presented to the winner following a 'Dragons' Den' style presentation in an open forum, will further enliven proceedings on the opening day of the Show.

The finalists to take their place in front of the Dragons are sure to feature a range of early stage products and equipment that could become energy staples in the future.

Seminar places must be booked in advance. For further details, please visit: www.seai.ie/energyshow.
