Capacity doubled
May 1st 2010 An Aisle-Master articulated forklift
has enabled bathroom
brassware manufacturer,
Vado, to double the amount
of available storage capacity
in its warehouse at its UK
HQ and distribution centre
in Cheddar, Somerset. The
increased pallet density has
also resulted in substantial
savings on the costs of
external storage previously incurred
with a 3pl provider.
By going for the articulated system
Vado has been able to install racking
to accommodate 1200 pallet spaces,
whereas the wider aisles needed for
counterbalance operation would
have yielded just 580 spaces.
Vado chose a 20SE AC
electric Aisle-Master model,
which will work mainly inside
in aisle-widths of 2m and lift
to 5.5m. As the trucks are
equipped with super elastic tyres
they can also be used to load
