Keep forklifts safe
May 1st 2009 RDS Technology says its forklift
monitoring system, the Speed and
Distance 200 cost-effectively logs
occurrences of the forklifts travelling
in excess of site speed restrictions.
Powered through the vehicle ignition
it is switched on with the vehicle and
works on an input signal from a
magnetic sensor on the non-driven
or transmission shaft.
For driver warning it has a visual
and an internal audible alarm to
alert the driver when the pre-set
speed limit is exceeded. A further
external alarm is optional. This gives
forklift operators full information on
their vehicle speed and allows them
to operate safely within site or
warehouse speed restrictions. The
unit can also log all overspeed
occurrences and categorise them into
