Cools corrosion

Newark Electric Motors specialises in the supply, maintenance and repair of electric motors, gearboxes and pumps. The company relies on Loctite products and finds Freeze and Release particularly useful when dealing with corroded parts.

Once the parts have been cleaned of loose dirt and rust, Freeze and Release is applied from the can. An application of between 5 and 10 seconds will instantly chill seized and rusted parts to -43°C. This shock-freeze effect produces a differential thermal contraction that creates microscopic cracks in the layer of rust. This allows the lubricant in the spray to wick directly into the rust. The assembly can be easily dismantled after just one to two minutes.
