Bob Goss, a senior technology specialist at Henkel, maker of Loctite brand products, has written a 180-page book called Practical Guide to Adhesive Bonding of Small Engineering Plastic and Rubber Components.

It is published by Smithers, an organisation that provides an independent service covering, testing, analysis, processing and research for the polymer industry. Among its 10 chapters are sections dealing with an introduction to adhesives, selecting an adhesive, joint design and trouble-shooting. A number of case studies are included.

Henkel, provided support for the project, as did the Publishing and Polymer Library section at Smithers.

The book is Ł75 in hard back or electronic form and can be bought from Smithers in Shrewsbury or via www.ismithers.net/publishing.
