Level indicator August 1st 2010 A new rotary paddle switch from 4B
Braime detects high/low levels
of bulk granular solids
in bins, tanks and silos.
The RLI Shaker can
also be used to detect
plug conditions in spouts,
where long life and failsafe
detection is required.
Using a special stepper motor drive,
the device rotates clockwise, then
counter-clockwise and then shakes to
shed any excess material build up. If
the paddle rotation is impeded at
any time by the bulk material then
the electronic circuit provides a
signal for level indication or control.
The ATEX-certified RLI Shaker is
said to use fewer mechanical
parts than standard rotary
level indicators. Neither
gearbox nor clutch is needed
as the stepper motor drive is
directly coupled to the output
shaft and cannot be damaged
by forced or backwards
rotation. Adjustable torque control
allows one unit to cover many
densities of material. More articles from 4B Braime Elevator Components: |
