Time to act on refrigerants
May 1st 2009

With the ban on Virgin R22 and other HCFC less than a year away, AGas is urging managers without a strategy in place to start banking recovered refrigerant or take advantage of recovery services available.

There are a number of options, including sourcing alternative refrigerants and refrigerant banking.

Refrigerant banking is proving popular, but as demand for recycled refrigerant gains momentum prices are rising. There are also zero ozone depleting 'replacement refrigerants' – the ISCEON Mo 9 Series and the UK engineered RS range of refrigerant replacements. However different refrigerants should never be mixed or dropped in on top of an existing refrigerant.

A-Gas provides a refrigerant recycling service that can reclaim gases from some of the accidentally mixed refrigerants.
