Cleaning fluids March 1st 2010 Centrifugal separators from Alfa
Laval rotate at up to 10,000rpm to
separate metal fines and tramp oils
down to 1µ in size from cutting fluids
and other industrial fluids.
Once contaminated, this type of
fluid has to be cleaned or replaced.
The latter option can prove expensive,
with the cost not just of the new
coolant, but also of disposal of the
contaminated fluid. A facility with five
machine tools that replenishes the
sumps four times annually can spend
in excess of £14,000.
Alternatively, savings can be made
if the coolant is recycled. Alfa Laval
centrifugal separators range from
small, mobile units to large systems
and effectively purify lubricating and
cutting fluids, extending their lives
almost indefinitely. More articles from Alfa Laval Limited: |
