Protection for welding
August 1st 2010 Ceramishield is the ceramic
protective coating for welding
processes from Henkel. This
dry film effectively protects
welding equipment against
metal spatter for durations
of up to eight hours without
the need to reapply. This
means cleaning of
equipment is no longer
necessary and, because
downtime is eliminated,
costs are reduced and
productivity enhanced.
As the name suggests,
Ceramishield is a ceramic, siliconefree
protective coating that dries
within seconds. It is easy to apply
and protects contact tips, welding
nozzles and jigs. It can be used for
both manual and robotic MIG/MAG
welding, jigs, fixtures
and fittings and laser
and plasma cutting.
"Use of this sprayon
product means that
productivity can be
increased by up to
10%," says Colin
Chapman, marketing
manager at Henkel. "In
addition, running costs
for consumables can be
reduced by up to 70%.
And, of course, the costs for cleaning
